3 day traıl

 CAPPADOCIAN VALLEYS ON HORSEBACK

 Program:

Day 1 :  We’ll head off from Avanos through the Çayagıl valley with its magnificent rock formations.  Passing through the Love Valley whose fairy chimneys are the tallest of the whole region,  we’ll reach the rocky outcrop of Uçhisar, a rocky wonderland created by nature and by man, for a great panoramic view over the area.  Overnight in a small family hotel. 5 hours of riding.

Day 2 :   We’ll ride down the Pancarlik valley, spectacular with undulating ridges of pink and white rock, vineyards and apricot trees, in the direction of Ürgüp. Just before the village, we’ll fork off towards the rocky outcrop of Ortahisar and its traditional village. We’ll then follow a track through the vineyards through some of the most spectacular landscapes of the area, in the Rose and Red valleys, to the village of Çavusin. We’ll spend the night in a small family hotel of the village. 6 hours of riding.

Day 3 :   We’ll pass in front of the impressive cliff of Çavusin, an abandoned rock village which harbours the 6th century church of John Baptist. A small goat track will lead us to a high plateau for a view over the fairy chimney valley of Devrent. Nature is a true artist, some of its pink and white fairy chimney formations resemble animal figures. Then we’ll continue onto the 13th century Seljuk caravanserai of Saruhan with its monumental entrance. The first Turks to arrive to Anatolia from Central Asia in the 11th century, the Seljuks were builders and experts in stonework. After visiting the caravanserai, we’ll follow a dry riverbed and then the banks of the  longest river of Turkey, Kizilirmak, back to Avanos. 5 hours riding. Overnight at a hotel in the village.
